365 Days of Crochet — A Journey Back to Calm, Creativity, and Calling

365 Days of Crochet — A Journey Back to Calm, Creativity, and Calling

After my little stay-cation at KEMH (for those outside Bermuda — that’s our hospital), I noticed something surprising: my hands wouldn’t stop shaking. The only thing that calmed them… was crocheting.

Crochet has always been part of Butterfly Crochet & Crafts, but somewhere along the way, it slipped into the background. Not intentionally — but because I was busy focusing on what was selling, what customers wanted, and what I thought my business needed from me.

In doing that, I somehow drifted away from the very craft that gave me so much in the first place — not just a business, but peace. Calm. Fulfillment.
The space where my mind could settle and my soul could breathe.

Picking up my hook again — not to fulfill an order, not to meet a deadline, but simply to create — felt like fireworks going off inside me. It reminded me of where I started, why I started, and the original vision for BC&C.
The brand.
The purpose.
The gift.

It reminded me of the talent God placed in my hands and how much beauty can come from a simple hook, a strand of yarn, and a heart ready to transform.

That feeling lit something in me, and I don’t want to ever let that skill, that joy, or that peace fade into the background again. So, I’ve set a huge challenge for myself:

365 Days of Crochet.

Starting on the first day of my full-time entrepreneurial journeyDecember 9th — I’ll be crocheting a project every single day LIVE.
December 9th is also the memorial of my dad’s passing. Instead of letting it be only a day of grief, I want it to be a day that honors his legacy. My dad was an entrepreneur too, and choosing that day to begin this challenge feels like carrying his torch forward.

And listen — I’ve invested thousands into patterns I’ve never tried, never opened, and in some cases… yes… bought more than once 🙈.
So, this year-long journey will include those patterns, new ones, and original BC&C pieces. Some projects will take longer than others, but every day brings something new. My goal is to finish as many pieces as possible during a 2–3 hour livestream on Twitch and YouTube.

So, if you want to be part of this journey — part of our cocoon as we grow, shift, and transform — come along.
